Acurite Tower Discovery Script

This post provides a home assistant script, which will automatically discover Acrite tower sensors.

This works with 06002M and 592TX. Other devices may function with minor changes and modifications, but, are not tested.

How to I setup RTL with Acurite sensors?

Please see 433 Mhz Temp / Humidity Sensors

This purpose of this post, is just an easy configuration option, rather then needing to manually edit yaml.

Refresh your page.

Execute the script.

To find your identifiers, I prefer just looking at MQTT Explorer. I let it run for a while, and when ready, I put the batteries into the new sensor.

Within a few seconds, it should pop up as a new row. Remember the ID for later (326 in this case)

Within Devices/MQTT, before running the script, I have four devices.

In your home assistant, navigate to scripts.

Open Scripts

Click on rtl_433 Acurite Tower MQTT Discovery.

In this case, ID=326 is the new sensor I am putting in my garage.

Click run. You will need to close the dialog.

Back under Devices/MQTT, your new sensor will appear.

The remove action will remove the retained discovery messages.

Note- you don't need to fill out the sensor name.
