Acurite Tower Discovery Script¶
This post provides a home assistant script, which will automatically discover Acrite tower sensors.
This works with 06002M and 592TX. Other devices may function with minor changes and modifications, but, are not tested.
How to I setup RTL with Acurite sensors?¶
If would like to learn about the world of RTL_433, and 433mhz sensors...
Please see 433 Mhz Temp / Humidity Sensors
This purpose of this post, is just an easy configuration option, rather then needing to manually edit yaml.
The Script¶
How to use¶
Click the above button to import the blueprint.
Save the blueprint. You will be prompted to rename.
Refresh your page.
Execute the script.
To find your identifiers, I prefer just looking at MQTT Explorer. I let it run for a while, and when ready, I put the batteries into the new sensor.
Within a few seconds, it should pop up as a new row. Remember the ID for later (326 in this case)
Within Devices/MQTT, before running the script, I have four devices.
In your home assistant, navigate to scripts.
Click on rtl_433 Acurite Tower MQTT Discovery.
Run the script.
In this case, ID=326 is the new sensor I am putting in my garage.
Click run. You will need to close the dialog.
Back under Devices/MQTT, your new sensor will appear.
Voila, you have a new device.
End result?¶
I was able to configure 9 sensors in a period of less then two minutes.
Info
I strongly recommend you keep a listing of device type, ID, and name handy.
In the event your retained MQTT discovery messages are cleared, your devices will be cleared too.

How to remove devices¶
Method 1- You can delete the discovery topics manually through your MQTT tool of choice.
Method 2- You can run the script, and use the remove action.
The remove action will remove the retained discovery messages.
Note- you don't need to fill out the sensor name.
